Khan, who is at the World Economic Forum in Davos, said that even Prince Charles had more government experience than Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. He said Bilawal had to change his name to Bhutto so that he could become the leader-in-waiting of the PPP.
The PTI chief was certain that the large number of young voters who will participate in the elections for the first time will help him take the polls. The total number of registered voters is close to 90 million, with 40 million of them young enough to vote for the first time.
When asked why his party had refused to join Tahirul Qadri’s long march in Islamabad, Khan said that they wanted to achieve change legally and did not want to destroy the legal structure of the country.
When we formed we said that we would respect the law, and the constitution.
Qadri had lead four days of street protests in the heart of the capital aimed at forcing the government to resign. The government and the cleric had later come to an agreement that stated his party will have some say over the formation of a caretaker government ahead of elections this spring.
The PTI chief did, however, believe that his party could carry out a bigger march if it wished to do so. He said the party had a membership of 10 million people, out of whom seven million were instantly accessible.
If we asked them to march they will, but we want to win through the votes of the people. We want to stay within the law and the structures of the country.

I wish the best for everyone
I am not a registered with PTI neither did I vote before coz most of the time I lived outside of Pakistan. Previously many of our leaders promised us so many things but non of them were fulfilled. Now Imran khan is here, so what do you think we should do 1) should we judge him and his party based on our previous leaders actions Or 2) should we judge him based on his own history. I don't know about you but I will go with option # 2 coz his own history is bright I.e A) he promised to make a cancer hospital and he did it. B) he promised university and he did it and it is now one of the best university in Pakistan. Keep in mind that he did all this with out holding any Gov position. So come on guys and gals lets not lose our last hope........let's give him a chance. Let's say if Imran khan does not fulfill his promise what will be the worst case sanario? It will be still better than both PPP and PML. Think about it, your vote counts and you will be liable to Allah Almighty on the big day, your one vote can bring a change into the lives of billions. Be open minded... I have a lot to write but coz of space I cant...wish to all the best
khan i am also khan born on the same date 25 november when you was born .i am from mianwali bhadukheal niazi family.i am msc math student. my all family is going to stand with you.i love you and i am proud to be niazi due to you.thanks.be brave as we niazi are.
I would love to see PTI win the election, but I just can't see it. Nawaz 'Thief' Sharif is the front runner who looks most likely to.
The PPP and PMLN have stole billions already from the people of Pakistan over the years if you people vote for Nawaz Sharif then you deserve everything you get.
PTI is the only option as another win for Sharif then you will face more years without jobs, poor economy, poor health, high food prices more deaths, robberies etc and sooner or later the Army will rule again
To all doubters/haters of Imran Khan, Please give me one accomplishment of PPP or PML or the Mouvlis. The youth of pakistan are supporting PTI like they were with Quaid e Azam. Change always comes from fresh ideas. At least give him a chance than be critical. All those criticizing Imran are backes of status Quo PPP/PML/MQM and others who are looking at the power slippling out of their grip and can do nothing about it. May Allah help us in this transition. Imran is talking eveloution instead of reveloution. I am hopeful after decades of incompetent and or corrput leaders.
imran khan my best leader
Imran Khan is the only hope of Pakistan... Please cast your vote and Vote for IK .. He is the Youth's hero.
If he does not root out terrorism, how can he hope to progress economically??
we trust you. inshallah you will
@Dr.A. K.Tewari:
My dear Doctor, please be known that you are committing blasphemy of biblical proportions by asking so many questions about Imran Khan, his politics, how he would win the elections and with whom he would form a coalition government. IK's word are in fact a series epiphanies which dawn upon him from the outer heavens. If he along with his cult worshipping army say that PTI would win hands down, than we the mere mortals have got no choice but to take their words on their face value - without pondering too much on merit ;)
No one can sweep the election in prevailing situation . Can IK tell the country how he will be able to form a govt. If there will be a result in fevour of a collision govt . On the other hand other parties have a wide options with them . Only a jehadee group will support him but such group are loosing ground in the country .
inshallah we will.. tired of the cheaters, looters
My whole family and people i know i.e. friends & colleagues almost 90% are in favor of Mr.Khan. Hoping that PTI wins the maximum seats in the coming election.
I am an Overseas Pakistani based in the US, I just donated $100 (Rs. 10,000) to PTI. Will do so again next month Insh'Allah
I am for him and wish he could come but then I think "thorra over ho raha hai ab" by passing such statements !!!
This is the only hope I left with, is that Govt will change and PTI will come in Power by than. After it we may have bright future. I am living with this hope in PAk.
Imran you may get to power no problem. You will enjoy the position. But what are you going to do without structural reforms? It the same feudals, choudhries and sardars are going to be in the parliament how are you going to do anything. I want you to broaden your vision. Your first priority should be land reforms. Announce Land Ceiling of 50 acres with excess land distributed among the landess poor. You will sweep the polls and will be able to do good things for Pakistan. Structural Reforms and Policies that help the country and the people of Pakistan not only the rich and landed class of Pakistan.
@Saleem. Please enlighten us what would you like us to learn. Please present forward your formula of fixing Pakistan.
Kind regards.
Imran Khan next PM...yayyyyy
@M_ALI: Because he played a sport professionally. Right. That means he knows how to play a game well. Philanthropy is throwing money at things, and have those things do whatever the topic is. If Imran Khan is considered some kind of hero to look up to in Pakistan, the best part that makes him most attractive is that it's not something far away from even the most rock bottom Pakistani's grasp. You're right on his mental level. Not a good thing, by the way.
@waseem, Khan knows how to achieve the dreams and make them real, dear
Like always, IK is tragically confused and contradictory in his comments. He is so comfortable in climbing on the shoulders of youth for the sake of his popularity but is contemptuous of young leaders. Since IK could not come up with any corruption or other usual charges against Bilawal, he has stooped low and tried to make fun of a novice in politics. I wonder how this man can pay respect to those he is using to gain popularity and votes i.e the youth.
I do appreciate his approach of bringing a change in a lawful manner but his definition of law is susceptible to change. At one time he went to England to start legal proceedings against the leader of MQM and after a couple of years he was comfortably holding a rally in Karachi with the blessings of the same party...without any qualms of conscience.
Mr. IK has always been criticizing the politicians of this country ad nauseam but is never concerned when anybody from the same breed of politicians joins his party. I always wonder how he purify them of their past deeds, which he had always abhorred, at least publicly. I feel sad to say but in my view, which may be wrong, Mr. IK is a demagogue at best NOT A LEADER.
@Ch. Allah Daad:
Thank you for your keen insight darbari sahib!
@something true:
who is supporting this guy, the US or Britain. any ideas?.
The Pakistani people. Any other questions darbari sahib?
Question for all Indians who may be reading this is "How will Imran Khan manage in a coalition in the likely outcome that he will not get the complete mandate?"
Those who are criticising IK for the sake of criticism, please don't get yourself blind in the hatred. All of you know very well that PPP and PML-N turned Pakistan into a family business. They have done nothing which is beneficial for the masses. Even then if you would vote and support those corrupt parties then the blame of destruction of Pakistan would lay on your shoulders not the family business tycoons.
I would advise Mr. Khan to first gather a reasonable number of candidates............and then race horses in his dreams. As the situation stands today.......realisticly..........he wont even reach double figures.
He is only playing up with sentiments of his immature supporters.......and after losing elections will play theelection rigging card.
Deewane ka khwab! Voting for PTI means giving a chance to PPP. Now that everyone knows Qadri was planted by PPP and Imran Khan had claimed that he and Qadri had the same agenda. Means both are planted by PPP to break right votes. People of Pakistan are more aware now and will never let this conspiracy to materialise.
Flying back to Pakistan during election time to vote Imran khan, if I can then Pakistani brothers and sisters living in Pakistan should vote for a good chance
If Imran Khan wants to win, he needs an amendment in the polling procedure, Voting should be allowed only on internet and social media.
Why when all the world leaders are invited at Davos world economic forum, the so called leaders Sharif brothers dont even go there invited or univited? even they in government? of they dont have the grey matter to deal and say something at the highest forums! Imran, Tareen, Chinoy are good faces from Pakistan at Davos.
About time we get rid of all "sajay gamay" from leadership and welcome change for good and dynamic sincere leaders in Pakistan. They represent future of Pakistan!
In 2013 election I will support and vote to Imran khan to save Pakistan since he is best available choice among all.
who is supporting this guy, the US or Britain. any ideas?.
Soo-nami dude has been claiming the same since 1997. He is clearly souding like a broken record now and even he knows that such statements are source of self satisfaction only.
@goggi: Inshallah is enough for a momin. People like you deserve to be slapped around as you ruin the country for the rest of us.
@Hataf Shahab: I don't agree with what you said. Bravery requires courage, and bilawal and PPP does not have a spine to stand up against Taliban. Is that what you expect from your leadership to just condemn Taliban. ACTIONS speak louder than words. Tell me what have they done to cure this Taliban disease.
If you are happy with PPP for condemning Taliban, then please vote again for them. They will keep condemning without taking any action
People.... for Allah's sake, for your children and future generations please vote for him for Pakistan to survive. When I came to US many years ago there were more Indians and Chinese than Pakistanis. I don't see them anymore, they are all gone back to their countries over the last 3-4 years and contributing to their homeland progress. There are thousands of Pakistani scientists, doctors, engineers and teachers who are dying to come back to contribute. They are just hesitant to come because of their children safety.
please don't think me wrong, I think i got a bit emotional :)
...there is a very fine difference between reality and delusion where IK is concerned. I would like to see the impending change he touts, but I have yet to see how he is going to bring about the change. He may win a few seats but that is about it – masses of 11 to 16 year old in jalsas can bring out numbers but they cannot vote. IK has not shown any difference, he has the same old faces – in fact losers of their previous parties, all his original supporters have left him. He has not shown any shadow government, he has not come out with any list of issues facing Pakistan and in what priority he will deal with them. He talks about eradicating corruption within 90 days but does not show how, he cannot take the law in his own hands – there is a due process of the law and sometimes it takes years. He is threatening to take on a very well established chaos, where are those angels who are going to assist him. Voters would like to see all that before they elect someone – he has failed to do that. Right now he is no different from the rest – a lot od promises, hot air and aspirations. Good luck, and I sincerely mean it.
INSHA-ALLAH
We need Presidential system in which people can directly elect the President , Governers and District Mayors. Whereas parliament and senate can look after law-making . Even Afghanistan has chosen himself a good political system but we opted for british system which is indirect and closes the doors on fresh people being elected to the top political offices. In direct democracy "Presidential System", people like IK will have good chance winning elections at ease. He should educate people about Presidential System but he has yet to come up with such reform in the system and only wasting his time in protecting his friends Taliban by condamning drone and arranging big public meetings which can't translante into elections victory.
He makes himself laughing stock by issuing such statements and nothing else. Where is preparation for election. Has he finalized his candidates for individual constituencies? Due to his obsession with TT, he alienated international players who have power broker in Pakistan. Only news we get from his party is how it is deeply embroiled in internal elections and differences. He has been a biggest disappointment for all those who were fed up with major parties and wanted a change.
He is the only one who did it on his own... Didn't inherit a party. He should be given One chance to prove himself. Imran Khan... One person the Wiki Leaks had nothing against. One person who made a difference for so many poor Cancer stricken Pakistanis. My vote is for PTI.
I seriously hope that he does win
This is a re run of events played over several times in land of the pure. First Mr Bhutto was going to deliver us, then zia was going to bring islamic revolution, then musical chair democracy for a little while, and then a military dictator was to be our savious through enlightened moderation before 'democracy' became the best revenge. When will the Pakistani people learn!
It is true electables matter a lot in Pakistani elections. However, there is not just one electable in a constituency. In most constituencies there are three or four electables. If top electable goes to PNL N or PPP, still PTI can attract the 3rd electable. Adding PTI's party vote, many of these third electables can win too. And PTI already has top electables in many constituencies too. So things are not that bleak for PTI. It just needs to maximize its party vote. It has 7 million members to start with. If it can convert this number to 10 million votes, it can sweep the elections.
There is a strong possibility that PTI in the upcoming general elections will make remarkable achievement and all the difference will be made by the young generation who really want a change in the country.
My only apprehension is right now that Imran Khan is making tall claims like any other political leader does before the date of election, but will he stick to his words once he is abke to form PTI government in Pakistan, more particularly in terms of serving the masses collectively and a comman man individually?
yes PTI can win but only if the youths leave the social media and actually go to the poling booths to cast their votes. and Imran assures them that he will not shake hands with any religious organization like JI etc.
That is one thing I look forward to this year. If people of this country don't elect a better leadership now, they might not have a country in a decade or so.
My question to all supporters of Imran khan as I myself supprt him.All the promises he is doing require constitutional amendments or 2/3 majority ,by just focusing on electable and political allainces in punjab and FATA,he can max get 1/3 and we will end up on hung parliament,a weak coalition dancing on the flute of establishment like present PPP Government and by claiming Dialogue with TTP,killers of 40000 pakistanis(Funded by enemies of Pakistan by now an open sectret) he want to give this so called war on terror on pakistani blood anothor 5 years till this dialougue fails and repeating all the story again??any answers/solutions?or another game of establishment?
@Nadir does Quaid new how to make a new Country?? No, he tried his best and did it. Similarly we are struggling our best to end corruption from Pakistan, n making it Quaid's & Iqbal's Pakistan. inshallah, so please come fwd n support Imran Khan.
We deserved to be governed fairly, IMRAN KHAN is the one who can get the country out of this mess. We are with you Khan.

A man who repetitively claims to change the entire corrupted system within 90 days, is a populist comedian, for a gullible (inshallah, mashallah, alhamdulillah) audience...........90 Light Days would have been an appropriate assertion!
@Nadir: Don't you know enough about how the media reports news to realize that they only publish headlines and play soundbites? Do you really think the media is interested in reporting on the details of campaign strategy? If you're interested in finding out, please go to the PTI website or watch any TV interview with Imran Khan or Asad Umar et. al.
Four or five seats for his party were only possible, if PTI and JI had made election alliance with JI but JI is making seat adjustments with PML(N). He will be very lucky if he wins his own seat. After elections he will not find a shoulder to cry on.
Khan has many unregistered supporters too. He will give a tough time to his opponents. Folks, do not compromise on qeemay walay naan this time.
I am young and I am NOT voter of PTI, He is requested to stop using youth card as i know many of my friends who wont caste their vote.
P.S. Every leader has blind following in pak, IK will throw a word towards us and we will keep playing with it like cats. Now this "status quo". I dont know how PTI is different.
in shaa Allah u will win up coming elections,God bless u.
I ask to the supporters of Imran khan, how will you people bring change in our country,as we have so many black sheeps in our political party like PTI.How we could claim of change. In this way no change will come only the faces are changing at sight.
He is living in fools paradise. Empty vessels make most noises. He lost my vote the day he became a fundo!
Vote for PTI. Kick out the filth.
INSHALLAH!
N, Q & PPP will lose a few seats each only in urban centres. These seats will be picked up by PTI & religious parties in Punjab & KP. Thus status quo will prevail as rural seats will remain with incumbent parties, give or take 5%. Kaptaans 10 million voters would work in a proportional representation system. Does not work in first past the post system. His 10 million voters are too dispersed to form large winning blocks in majority of constituencies. Good luck PTI.
5 votes from my home for Kaptaan,. And most of the relatives are also going to vote for him Inshallah because we know that if God forbid Kaptaan loses, we the Pakistanis will lose it too.
Ironic isnt it, Bilawal, who according to him inexperienced, has the bravery to condemn those fanatics IK eyes upon to win elections! I cant forget the statement he made, when BB died, about the fact that she was responsible for her own death. Atleast Bilawal condemns Taliban, Malala shooting, Al Qaeda directly, rather than the apologetic Taliban Khan!
Destroy the status quo. This country is great.
All our wishes are with him, may God Almighty help him achieve his goals to rid Pakistan of the evil that plagues it in the form of the two families. However Davos is not the place for Pakistan's savior in-waiting, it is a gathering of the corrupt and greedy capitalist exploiters of the world. Bankers, hedge fund operators, private equity managers mingle with people like Kissinger and other odious characters to work out new ways to further exploit and control the poor countries of the world. If Imran is sincere he should denounce these people and work with the 99 percent, not be seen to be associated with the 1 percenters.
Yes we Khan!
oi.... I am scared! :P
It was good move though but don't underestimate other players of this game!!!
Worst case scenario is that it will come only 2nd but there is a good chance that it can win as well.. Let's hope Pakistani people vote on the basis of credentials and not vote too much depending on constituency based politics.
Ofcourse you will captain! The nation is itching for the polls to take place so we can boot out these two family-limited parties for good. If only they had the guts to come out of their fortified bunkers, they would surely have realized by now how the situation on ground has drastically changed.
Inshallah!
INSHALLAH. His confidence is because of people of Pakistan not because of some establishment.
Its true
Entire nation of Pakistan is confident of PTI's success in upcoming general elections because its our last chance to save our country by voting for PTI which is the only political party that at least has intention of doing something for Pakistan rather than just chanting slogans..VOTE PTI please..
Good luck Khan. I am an unregistered voter of PTI, and I wish for numerous millions more to turn out at ballots to hand out a thrashing to the family businesses.
How will you win Mr.Khan? people vote leaders, you don't have enough leaders to grab the required number of seats? But, my prayers and wishes are with you. May you have the success and may our country be a peaceful place once again.
There is no end to delusion of grandeur....we have already suffered at the hands of messiahs before, and now media constructed Dim and his buffoons are getting on the nerves of nation...By the way IK also thought and claimed the same in 1996 and then 2002..
Well done IK for representing Pakistan at this important forum. The absence of our President, Prime minister and leader of the main opposition party lay bare this fact that these self proclaimed champions of democracy and economy lack the knowledge and expertise to conduct themselves on the World Economic Forum. On the contrary the former military ruler General Musharraf and his prime minister Shaukat Aziz gave much importance to this forum by regularly attending its meetings.
inshallah
inshallah PTI will win next election.
He would definitely win in emirates of Waziristan....... And become deputy prime minister because PM would be mullah Omar......
It's Imran Khan vs the crooks who treat us like tools and fools! Imran Khan you are our man!
Does he have any idea how the parliamentary system works? Millions of supporters doesnt translate to winning seats. How about starting by managing expectations.
PTI & PML-N are doomed in theforthcoming elections. Mr.Zardari has hammered thel ast nails in their coffins by signing an accord with Dr.Qadri & by introducing break up of Punjab in 2 or more provinces.
He is the leader we want to represent Pakistan in front of the World. May Allah give all the success.
Living in stupids' paradise!
Khan Sahib, Please for a change start living in the real world! We are fed up with your "ifs" & "but". Please start taking a firm stand about terrorists out to destroy Pakistan whereas you suggesting having negotiations with these evil doers. Once again please get real!
Cheeta....
