The three-year agreement supports faculty exchanges and joint research between the Southern Methodist University and the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University and between the University of Kentucky and a consortium of five K-P universities.
Provincial Secretary for Higher Education Farah Hamid and US Consul General Robert Reed were also present at the occasion. Reed said, “It is these linkages – people-to-people exchanges – that truly benefit both our nations.” The US will invest $8.6 million in the project over the next three years.
The partnership includes faculty exchange and focuses on a range of liberal arts subjects. Each centre supports graduate programmes and provides opportunities for joint Pakistani-US research.
