Bannu blast: House of IB director targeted

No casualty was reported and Shah and his family remained unhurt.

A bomb planted by unidentified militants near the residence of Intelligence Bureau (IB) Director Usman Ali Shah exploded in Bannu on Thursday.


Saddar police station official Saifullah said explosives planted near the boundary wall of Shah’s house went off at around 4am. The gate of the house was dislocated from its frame, while the boundary wall was destroyed, he added.

No casualty was reported and Shah and his family remained unhurt. Following the incident, a search operation was launched but no arrests have been made so far, Saifullah said. According to bomb disposal squad officials, three kilogrammes of explosives were used.
