Arshad Mohammed was arrested for smuggling heroin and hashish into the kingdom, the ministry was quoted as saying by the official SPA news agency.
His execution brings to four the number of people executed in Saudi Arabia so far this year.
Last year, the ultra-conservative Muslim kingdom beheaded 76 people, according to an AFP tally based on official figures. The US-based Human Rights Watch (HRW) put the number at 69.
Rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking are all punishable by death under Saudi Arabia's strict version of Sharia.

Bravo. The only country in the world which really tackles crime.
@John B: I am not muslim then, MIND IT. :D
@Ayesha: sorry to be too harsh but, lemme say: es se barh kar namak halali aur kiya ho sakti hai.
Perhaps you've not heard of a Saudi princess who was beheaded back in the 80's
saudi is one of the most corrupt and repressive and regressive societies in the world. their police and qazis are highly biased and partisan.
Anyone who disagrees with Saudi Justice is not a Muslim, so accept it as a way of life.
@mz: There are countless Saudis who engage in the most horrific crimes but they get away with it- the Saudi justice is only for poor people and mostly poor foreign labourers. I think most people are upset at the corrupt system of justice in Saudi Arabia where influential people can get away with anything but they show this phoney idea of law when it applies to poor labourers and foreigners. Any wonder why the world sees Saudi Arabia as a country with no morality despite being the home to Islam's most important shrines.
i wonder if they can do that to an american
@GrimmJow Wow, so now Pak should break off ties from KSA because it punished a criminal of Pakistani origin?
@AK47: maybe you should read Saudi news more often. I live here and yes they do execute saudis too.
Never heard of any Saudi National's beheading.
Pakistan should cut-off all ties from Saudi Arabia to protest it!
