At least 21 suspected militants were killed and 25 others injured when Pakistani jet fighters pounded their hideouts in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency Friday morning.
Political administration official Asmatullah Wazir said jet fighters attacked militant hideouts in Toi Khula, Soorkas, Bagh Kallay and Babar Kachkol areas of the agency.
Khasadar official Farhad Afridi said five trenches of militants belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) Mohmand chapter were destroyed in the bombings.
Afridi added that militants shifted the dead and injured to an undisclosed location following the raids. “Due to the remote location of the areas with snow covered mountains and rough terrain, it couldn’t be ascertained where the bodies were shifted to.”
On Monday, 14 people including women and children were killed and eight others injured when jet fighters bombed militant hideouts in the valley.
