Speaking to the media in Quetta, Rehman said that “such tactics were only used to derail democracy”.
He said, “The overall situation in the country – of security and economy – has been orchestrated in a way that now people feel the need for a revolution. It is being done deliberately in order to justify overthrowing the democratic setup in the country.”
He said that martial laws in the past were imposed under the garb of “saving the state.”
“When [former Army chief] Ziaul Haq came into power, he sloganeered ‘pehle ehtisab, phir intikhab’ (First accountability, then elections), however that never actually happened,” said Rehman.
The JUI-F chief further quoted a hadith and said that whoever keeps promising everything is actually a liar. “Someone, who in the past had left the country being disappointed over his failure in politics, should not try coming back to it.”
No chance of Islamabad turning into Tahrir Square: Kaira
Federal Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Wednesday that there was no chance of Islamabad turning into Tahrir Square on January 14 as claimed by Minhajul Quran International’s (MQI) leader Tahirul Qadri.
Speaking to the media in Faisalabad, Kaira said that the Tahrir Square revolution came at a time when dictatorship was ruling in Egypt against the will of the public. The present government enjoys the peoples’ support and is working according to the Constitution, he claimed.
Criticising Qadri’s threat of holding a “peoples’ parliament” and his demands of massive changes prior to the general elections, Kaira said that all such notions are tantamount to derailing democracy as per a hidden agenda.

in my opinion moulana fazl ur rehman is among most influential and intelligent politician of this country. in contrast to him dr Tahir Sb can only be pawn but disguised as a king at best.this guy have neither an experience nor exposure to provide viable solutions to the problems being faced to this nation. and not to mention his dreams which I think everyone of us are well aware about. he joined hands with mqm which itself is a part of government and ironically he speaks about government. this guy has weird opinions about certain issues which clearly contradicts with establish law of sharia. I heard him saying that if a muslim community anywhere in the world needs physical assistance to repel the forces then its against the sharia to help them.likewise his concept of qital is clearly off the sharia.he speaks about accepting the very existence of israel, moreover he doesn't find a need of speaking against the violence carried out by joint western forces in afghanistan. what I've assumed of him is a guy who has sold himself for the vested interests of anti islamic and anti pakistan forces. his credibility is very questionable. so in brief I wouldn't dare to compare moulana fazl rehman with dr Tahir Sb. no match
maulana dont be prejudiced.dr qadri has a clear vision.let him work for the better future of pakistan
Mr Qadri is a Canadian national. Why he was allowed to come to Pakistan.
Ring out the old - FATA card, Sindh card, Baloch card, Seraiki Card,... Ring in the NEW - CONSTITUTION card...
I was wondering what if PPP joins Qadri Rally??? why not if MQM and Quta league, ahm pardon, Q league can rally against themselves why not PPP. Thats what is called "charirty begins at home"..
I'm no fan of any mullah politician including Qadri, however, Fazlur Rahman represents the very cancer this country needs to expunge. Negative politics in the name of religion. Pakistanis would be better off if they do not hear from Fazlur Rahman and people of his kin ever again.
Although his intentions may be to join hands with whom ever wins next elections (He manages to have a couple of ministers from his party in the government no mater what), Maulana does have a point for a change. Elections should be held on time. Other Maulana has been brought to help delay elections and setup a non elected government. Although PPP, ANP and PML have not done much in last 5 years, but electoral process must go on and elections held on time. We must not make any more political Martyrs.
99% comments above are very logical , Read them carefuly Fajju mia ......?
Jealous................because you've been pushed back to favourite no: 4.
Maulana VS Maulana bring it on baby!
Fazal , seems Mirchaan are very bitter ehn?however "Mullah GERDI" in any form is CURSE. May that Mullah be you, or this new Mullah Qadri.
Fazlu and Nooras should stop maligning TUQ .Why don't they refute TUQ's reform agenda logically. What TUQ is saying is right. The status quo parties should accept that there are big flaws in the electoral system and it needs reforms.I think the status quo parties are scarred that they will lose the election under a fair system that is why they are opposing TUQ.
@Asim Ali:
LOL !!!!.....appreciate your sense of humour mate
Made any trips to Libya lately agent Orange?
The pot calling the kettle black!
Maulana, if you can't support, at least don't oppose. This type of people have been always a risk for Pakistan.
This is being the first time that a person like him is saying all this. So that pretty much clear things to us that these people are faking it this time too.
"Tahirul Qadri's philosophy illogical: Fazl"
To Fazlur Rehman and his JUI, so too is the idea of paying income tax, completely and totally illogical.
In simple words what TUQ is saying is if you do not pay your taxes; you cannot be a MNA or a MPA.
Is that simple enough philosophy for JUI?
First of all you should come back from enjoying chicken legs and then declare others philosophy logical or illogical.................
I cannot see what is illogical. I think the people who support the status quo including Mr Fazlur Rehman just want to keep the common man away from the corridors of power and prosperity. Mr Fazlur Rehman and his party have been in the parliament and part of MMA and have they delivered any good for the country or Islam. I cannot think of a single thing in so many years he has done for the country or for Islam, has he brought any laws to benefit Islam or implement it. I think we should not listen to illogical peple like him or people who do not want the common man to improve.
look who is saying :-)
Mr. Fazal says “The overall situation in the country – of security and economy – has been orchestrated in a way that now people feel the need for a revolution. It is being done deliberately in order to justify overthrowing the democratic setup in the country.”
He is part of this government and saying that the situation has been "orchestrated" for Tahirul Qadri. Who orchestrate the situation please name? What's your government is doing to prevent such situation? and above of them all "What is your logic to be part of every single government?"
Tahir ul qadri's agenda is to hold the election according to all articles of constitution , is it illogical ???
Maulana Sahb is right. Can anyone find any descrepancy in what he said in the article?
both tahir and fazl are failures.
He's right though. Qadri is a nobody with no solid team. The undecided are yet to believe in PTI and now there's this pawn. Either way, they'll get rid of him sooner rather than later whether he serves his purpose or not. He's not big enough.
Yes sir. As opposed to you. Indeed you would put people like Socrates, Aristotle and Einstein to shame as you, sir, are very very intelligent. On top of that your integrity, I have absolutely no words to describe what great character you have.
Make me PM and I shall give you utopia.
When this guy calls you illogical, this means you just achieved a new low for your existence.
Mullah versus Mullah.......they should both leave us alone
Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
Neither you nor he.Pakistan needs honest people not hypocrites.Dharti has its overdose of hypocrites. It is about to vomit what it has been made to digest.
Sir your philosophy is very logical: you will sell your soul to the highest bidder.
Tahir-ul-Qadri is the last hope for Pakistan, we should acknowledge this, Alas when we will accept true leaders.
@Asim Ali: at least he is not a pathetic loser like you who knows nothing and does nothing. It is people like you who drag the county down. Help yourself first to help the country!
When the devil rallies against you, you know you're doing something right.
Mr Fazl, you are the greatest intellect world have seen ever.
Dont Criticize Come up with a Plan.....
.First stone thrown on qadri by his rival.A lot of turbulance in coming future.T.twenty between mullahs.
Restrict your opinions to yourself and leave us alone...!!
Yes Mr. Fazl you are the most logical person on earth. You define leadership. There have been books written about you about your leadership style and how you have turned around companies, how you have developed your areas and how the world seeks your advice on pressing issues of economy. You are the citadel of knowledge. God help this country!
