The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday announced that the team will retain left arm pacer Mohammad Irfan and experienced allrounder Shoaib Malik for the three-match One-day series against India.

The PCB in a statement said that the national selection committee had accepted a request of the tour management to retain Malik and Irfan for the One-day squad. "These two players will now also be part of the One-day squad in India," the statement added.

Both the players were originally selected only in the national Twenty20 squad for the two scheduled matches in India that concluded in a 1-1 draw on Friday.

However, after Malik hammered a match winning half-century in the first T20 at Bangalore and Irfan impressed everyone with his bowling in both the games, the tour management committee opted to include them for the ODI series.

Flamboyant all rounder and former national team skipper Shahid Khan Afridi, however, could not manage to win the confidence of the team management. He is due to return home along with those players who were only selected for the T20 series.
