Rs5 banknote: Monday last day for exchange

SBP asks people to exchange the banknote by the close of banking hours on December 31.

KARACHI: Monday (December 31) is the last day for exchanging demonetised banknote of Rs5 from all field offices of the SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC) and over 11,000 branches of all commercial and microfinance banks (MFBs) operating in the country, said the State Bank of Pakistan on Friday. It said the central bank and SBP BSC would neither exchange nor be liable to pay any value of Rs5 banknote to any person or organisation after December 31. It asked people to exchange the banknote by the close of banking hours on December 31.
