KARACHI: KESC crushed PMC Athletico 5-1 to climb up to second in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL), while NBP found their form in the 3-0 win over Wohaib in Karachi yesterday.

It was an unlucky start for PMC Athletico as Muhammad Aslam scored an own-goal. KESC’s Aurangzeb Baba doubled the lead. Their third goal was scored by Abdul Salam before PMC Athletico’s Muhammad pulled one back as Baba went onto complete his hat-trick and seal the result.

With the win, KESC replaced PAF in second place behind KRL while PMC Athletico stayed in 15th position.

Meanwhile, NBP’s Rai Akmal Shehzad scored the opening goal against Wohaib, while Abdul Aziz doubled the score before Muhammad Asif sealed the win. Despite the win, NBP stayed sixth with 37 points.

“The mark has been set for the top five clubs now, and we know we are not in the running anymore,” NBP coach Nasir Ismail told The Express Tribune. “The margin between the number five team and us is more than 10 points. It’s clear that we need to settle for sixth.”
