Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf chief Imran Khan has said holding of the general elections on time was indispensable for stability in the country.
“I am very clear on this. There is no way for Pakistan to achieve stability without timely elections,” Khan said while reacting to the demand of the head of Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri.
At a press conference with Awami Tehreek president Ayaz Palijo on Sunday, Khan acknowledged the problems in the existing system as pointed out by Qadri. “Today I heard his speech while travelling in Sindh.
I agree with most of the things that he said. It’s what the PTI has been saying all along.” ECP has plenty of time to rectify the shortcomings in the electoral system that Qadri pointed out. But he insisted that the PTI considers that a delay or postponement of the elections will jeopardise stability of Pakistan.

Imran Khan is quite right. We dont want delay in elections. But we want elections according to Constitution of Pakistan and not according to will of PPPP+PMLN alliance.
pml n should be worried about tahir ul qadri, he will dent them not pti...
Imran´s establishment backed so-called slogan of "CHANGE" has been tranferred to tahir ul padri, his politics is indeed in deep trouble.
clean shave mullah omar
I am Muslim likes Ahle Hadees and PTI Supporter. But i do not tow the Imran Khan's line that Postponement of Elections will be detrimental for the country. If elections are held without necessary positive changes in electoral process and Culture the whole process will be futile.I do not like Tahir ul Qadri Sahib for his religious belief but one can not be more right than his assumption that without providing just level playing field to candidates the whole process will be Action Replay. Mr. Tahir is right when he demands overhauling of Election Commission to make it potent independent body which is free from any influence. At the moment not only Election Commission but the impending Caretaker Set up will be determined by Only Two most corrupt ruling parties (PPP and PML N). How come these parties will be interested in making or appointing the impartial persons. Think IK. Elections are not as necessary as eradication of Corruption,Inflation,Joblessness,Violence and restoration of the honour (Izzat) of the law abiding,Sagacious,Honest,Educated and brave people in our society. When the society will start not only abhorring the Corrupt but also rejecting these elements only then one can bank hopes from Democracy. Mr. Imran Khan if the positive changes are brought into our system Our party will benefit the most. All the parties must join the Tahir ul Qadri Sahib for drawing the road map for the changes because reforms were demanded in his speech but not elucidated lucidly. Targets must be set with time frame. All religious parties and even PML N must join hands with Tahir Ul Qadri Sahib without doubting his ulterior motives. Work for Positive changes in our system. All of you including us Awam will be beneficiary. Well done Tahir Ul Qadri Sahib. Pakistan Zinda Bad.
No mr Imran Just support Qadri to stop elections as u mentioned yesterday that ur agenda and Qadri's agenda is same .. this is the agenda of Establishment and u and Qadri is executing this ..... C more establishment players will come as elections come closer...
The gist of the whole speech by Qadri on 23rd/Dec lies in the point he raised about 'constitution saying that ALL the formalities regarding elections should be met before holding them',even if due-date has to be surpassed.I must say that Qadri has very tactfully opened the option for elections to be delayed by coming to Pakistan at a time when very little time is left to meet with the demands he makes.HENCE a delay in holding elections
Love you Imran Khan. You are our last hope. I urge all Pakistanis to support Imran Khan and vote to PTI in upcoming elections.
The present government may or even also at least shall try its best and utmost to delay the elections by creating political unrest and security threats from Taliban in Pakistan....
You are right Imran! We need timely and fair election to have remotest of possibilities to get out of the mess we have put ourselves in. At the same time, my request to you would be to show courage and come out this time openly with unambiguous warning to nobody else but Talibans - the TTPs, the Fazlullahs, the Ehasanullahs - that you would take them to task for taking this country and its hapless nation back to stone age. Trust me, by doing so, you would regain confidence of many of disillusioned people like me.
Agreed. Postponement of elections would be a political disaster for the country. Orderly and timely change of guards is very important for continuation of democracy.
Only Imran can save Pakistan from Qadri.
please push ECP to allow oversears pakistanis to vote!
Exactly...
Only Imran can save Pakistan.
How could there be any elections when the elected leaders of secular parties are targeted regularly? Only the rightwing supporters of Taliban are safe, free to roam and go on election campaign! With the war upon one side by the terrorists how can elections be held and fair for all?
