KARACHI: Sindh Culture Minister Sassui Palijo inaugurated the conservation project for the Karachi Press Club (KPC) heritage building on Saturday. The culture department will provide Rs20 million from this year’s budget for its renovation, including repair and polishing the furniture in the building. “KPC is part of Sindh’s heritage and the government wants to keep its original shape intact,” said Palijo. “Sindh is the land of Sufis,” she said while condemning the recent incident in Dadu where a man was lynched for allegedly desecrating the Holy Quran. The department’s secretary, Abdul Aziz Uqaili, said that his department was involved in several conservation projects in Karachi as well as other areas of the province. He announced that a photo exhibition of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah will be held on December 24 and Benazir Bhutto’s on December 26.
