Angelina Jolie’s visit

Letter September 09, 2010
The visit of the Hollywood celebrity follows the visit of the Turkish first lady.

LAHORE: Angelina Jolie’s personal donation of $100,000 for the unfortunate flood victims reflects the common bonds of humanity that transcend borders, faith, ethnicity and colour. The visit of the Hollywood celebrity follows the visit of the Turkish first lady. We need to understand that it is important for us to be human beings first, free of prejudices, complexes and hatred, before we proclaim our right to belong to any faith or religion. Men like Edhi are a rarity in Pakistan, whose commitment to the welfare of human beings is free from any prejudices. The elite of our country should take inspiration from such examples and must contribute generously towards those affected by the recent floods.
