Under attack: Another Shia gunned down in Karachi

Jawwad Bhatti was shot multiple times by unknown assailants at his dawakhana in Mominabad, Landhi.

KARACHI: A day after members of the Shia community was assured of security by Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan, another man belonging to the Shia sect, was shot dead in Karachi.

On Monday, Jawwad Bhatti, 45, was shot dead inside his Dawakhana (medicine store) in Landhi’s Moinabad area.

The son of Anwar Hussain Bhatti, he was shot at multiple times and died at the spot.

His body was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for an autopsy.

Police officials of the Sharafi Goth police station said that deceased was a hakeem by profession and apparently two armed riders killed him due to his sect.
