KARACHI: Political alliances against the Pakistan Peoples Party, such as the Pakistan National Alliance and the Islami Jamhoori Ittehad (IJI), have failed, and so will those that are being formed ahead of the upcoming general elections, said Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Monday.

Memon said that opposition parties and Sindhi nationalists were trying to deceive the people of Sindh, and advised them to learn from the past. However, the situation is different this time around because a democratic system is in place, said the PPP leader. “Fake alliances like the PNA and IJI cannot work as they did in the past.”
