Skin care: ‘Recommend meds keeping patients’ finances in mind’

Dermatologists’ Conference ends December 17.

Dermatologists should keep the financial position of their patients in mind when they provide care in Pakistan as not all patients can afford to buy expensive derma medicines, senior professors of dermatology said at the inauguration of the 31st Annual Conference of Pakistan Association of Dermatologists on Friday.


The three-day conference was organised by the Pharma Health Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. Dermatologists including Prof Tahir Saeed Haroon, Prof Dr Atif Kazmi, Brig Dr Zafar Shaikh, Dr Naseema Kapadia, Dr Tariq Saeed, Khawaja Shahzeb Akram, Khawaja Jahanzeb Akram and Fawad Bashir the first session.

In his opening address, chief guest Prof Haroon stressed the need to use the latest and patient friendly technologies. He also urged dermatologist to keep the financial position of their patients in minds before prescribing medicines.

Delegate from across the nation and from SAARC countries participated in the conference. They gave presentations on the importance of dermatology in patient treatment. Speakers also highlighted the importance of dermatological care in Pakistan. It is a matter of importance some the worlds best dermatological and anti allergy products are not only successfully marketed in Pakistan but also manufactured locally, said Pharma Health Pakistan CEO Khawaja Shahzeb Akram.

He said manufacturers are taking a leading role to introduce high quality products at economical prices. The conference will be end on Dec17th.
