Toy bomb: Woman, girl injured in explosion

BANNU: Rukhsana and her seven-year-old niece Sumera were injured when a toy bomb that the girl had been playing with exploded in their house in Kotla Buland Khan, Bannu on Friday. Saddar Police SHO Gul Hameed said that at around 8:30am a low-intensity blast in the Fatima Khel Kalan area of Kotla Buland Khan. When police arrived at the site the owner of the house Umarzad said his wife and niece had been injured while playing with the toy bomb. They were both taken to District Headquarters Hospital before the police arrived. When the SHO reached the hospital, the injured girl said that she was given a toy three days ago by unidentified persons. Medical superintendent Dr Iqbal Marwat said that Rukhsana’s condition was stable but the girl’s hands had been severely injured. Police have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter. Earlier on July 31, three children playing with a bomb disguised as a toy ball were injured when it exploded in Dogar Emarzai, on the outskirts of Bannu city.
