High pressure: Man killed in air tank explosion

A man was killed when an air pressure tank at a tyre shop exploded on Wednesday. Laksian police said Muhammad Asif, 26, a resident of Jalla Makhdoom village, switched on the pressure motor at his tyre shop and went home for lunch. They said minutes after he came back to the shop, the tank exploded due to high pressure. On hearing the explosion, shopkeepers and customers at nearby shops ran to his rescue. Before Asif could be taken to hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. Witnesses said windows of nearby shops broke due to the explosion.
