Crackdown: Police arrest 10 suspects in raid

SUKKUR: Ghotki police arrested at least 10 suspects in raids at different villages in Gopo Pitafi early Sunday morning. The operation was launched to arrest notorious criminal Sheeno Pitafi but he managed to escape. A heavy contingent of police led by the DSP Mirpur Mathelo cordoned off the entire raided Gopo Pitafi area and initiated a house-to-house search. More than two dozen suspects were rounded up but as the policemen were on their way back, armed men opened fire at them. The raid was launched on information that Pitafi was in the area, DSP Mirpur Mathelo Fida Hussain Chandio told The Express Tribune. The most-wanted criminal carries a head money of Rs500,000 and is booked in many cases of kidnapping for ransom, robberies and other crimes.
