MIRAMSHAH: A US drone fired two missiles at a compound in North Waziristan tribal district early Thursday, killing at least four militants, local security officials said.

The missiles hit a house in Mubarak Shahi village, in Mir Ali, 20 kilometres east of Miramshah, the main town in North Waziristan.

“Militants were using this house as a compound. At least four militants were killed in this drone strike,” a security official said, adding that the militants were Uzbek and were temporarily residing at the house of a tribesman identified as Shaheedullah Dawar.

Another security official in Miramshah confirmed the attack and said four militants were killed.
