Justices Iqbal Rehman and Riaz Khan passed the order in response to an application filed by Qadri himself.
The bench directed Warraich to constitute a medical board comprising a cardiologist, gastroenterologist, and a dental specialist to examine the health of Qadri and submit its report.
During the course of the hearing on Wednesday, standing counsel Sahabzada Raees Ahmed submitted its report and claimed that Qadri’s medical report is satisfactory.
However, Qadri’s counsel, Justice Main Nazir, opposed the report and said that his client has been ill for the last six months, having lost a drastic amounts of weight.
He informed the court that Qadri has been taking medication prescribed by doctors for six months and has shown no signs of improvement.
Judge of Anti Terrorism Court Syed Pervaiz Ali Shah sentenced Qadri to the death penalty, after he confessed killing Salmaan Taseer.
Taseer was killed on January, 4 2011 at the Kohsar Shopping Centre in Islamabad’s F6 Sector, a short distance from one of Taseer’s houses.
