Terror attempt: Bomb planted near JUI-F leader’s house defused

Two kilogrammes explosives used, says official.

LAKKI MARWAT: A bomb planted by the gate of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief Maulana Amanullah’s house was defused by security forces on Tuesday.

Amanullah’s son Maulana Asghar Ali registered an FIR against unidentified militants at Tajori police station, stating that he spotted the bomb with its detonator wire half burnt. He then informed the police and security forces who rushed to the house and defused the bomb. “Around two kilogrammes of explosives were used,” official Hikmatullah said.

He added that four suspects were arrested and had been shifted to the police station for further investigations.

Asghar also showed a pamphlet that had been placed by militants near the bomb, identifying themselves as Jandullah group of commander Ahmad Marwat.
