KARACHI:

Nokia Pakistan reiterated its commitment to assist aspiring application developers at the ‘Nokia Developers’ Workshop’ conducted in collaboration with a software organistion, P@SHA, at the University of Karachi.

The workshop, which was conducted by Syed Faraz Ahmed from the Lakson Business Solutions, trained students in developing locally relevant mobile apps for Nokia devices. “The students understood why it [software training] was beneficial for them and their community,” he said. “They want to contribute towards content development and they took a keen interest in the workshop.” The fact that more than two million apps are being downloaded from the Nokia App Store in Pakistan every week has made software developers realise the extent of revenues that could potentially be generated from this market.  At the end of the workshop, certificates were distributed among the participants.
