Mysterious Dadu debris was part of Hatf V missile
In a press release, the ISPR stated that the missile test was conducted on Wednesday, and the metal parts found in the Johi taluka of Dadu dictrict were part of the motor body. The parts were “separated from the missile as planned, well within the safety corridor”.
The statement assured that no human life or property was at risk due to the debris and there was “no cause for alarm or concern”.
On Wednesday, villagers had witnessed metal debris falling from the sky following a thunderous sound.
The police was silent on the matter, and the military was quick to the site.
Police sources had said that the pieces weighed around 180kg.

@Tuglak: All observations spot on but like skud missiles produced by Saddam Hussein during his mother of all wars with US, these missiles used to miss their intended targets and landed on their own people killing hundreds of them.

The purpose of tests is to identify points of failure and fix them. So there is nothing inherently wrong if a test fails. There are 2 things here that are troubling: 1. The design of test : How could it be planned in such a way that if the test failed, highly ppulated areas could be impacted? 2. The ISPR continues to lie to its people.
While both points are probably a concern for Pakistanis, the second point in particular is more troubling for Indians who have been victims of ISPR lies. Whether it is Kashmir insurgency (we are just providing "moral support") or Kargill (no Pakistani soldiers were involved) or Dawood Gilani (He doesn't live in Pakistan) or LeT(It has been banned and is not allowed to operate in Pakistan) - there is just no end to the lies which result in hundreds of Indians dying.
Does the ISPR not realize that when lies are deliberately propagted, even when they want to tell people the truth it will not be believed? Gen Kayani's very sincere speech on Aug 14 calling to attention the genuine threats from internal sources was treated just like the villagers treated Peter - the boy who cried wolf.

My first concern was that there was a chance of innocent villagers being killed by the falling debris. No where in the world, ballistic missile are tested over populated areas. And secondly we do like to keep an eye on Pakistan to see what is going on. There have been so many "misunderstandings" in the past when your soldiers wandered inside our borders, by mistake, I am sure. It is good to be careful and alert.
What is this world coming to... If you can not trust Chinese designed North Korean missiles then who can you trust...

Yes we have had many failed tests while developing the Agni system, and they are faithfully reported in the press. It has been a long struggle and we will need some more tests to make them fully operational.
As regards to lesser number of failures Pakistan is far ahead. Slow and steady we will somehow manage.

Some one here said that why was militarily unaware of its trajectory and possible fallen debris ? That guy should read the topic again where it is clearly mentioned that [The police was silent on the matter, and the military was quick to the site] which indicates that the militarily was very much aware of the missile path and the fallen parts which were required to be separated. Else they would had struggled in finding them.

Johi, Dadu etc are populated areas. The missile was atleast 50 miles East of its flight path over unpopulated areas of Balochistan. The wiring and bulk indicates 60's technology, the equivalent of which these days can be found in hand held devices.
I have a feeling that most of the so-called drone causalities are actually from Pakistan trying to fire their North Korean duds.
Looking at this piece of equipment, and its internal circuitry, it doesn't come as a surprise when it doomed.

Thank God the military reached there on time, otherwise every school kid in the area would have been playing with "made in North Korea" makeshift toys.
