In remembrance: Tribute paid to Faiz Ahmad Faiz

Adviser to the Sindh chief minister, Sarfaraz Rajar, was the chief guest at the ceremony.

HYDERABAD: The cultural wing of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) organised a function to remember revolutionary poet Faiz Ahmad Faiz.

November 20th was observed as the 28th death anniversary of the influential left-wing intellectual.

Adviser to the Sindh chief minister, Sarfaraz Rajar, was the chief guest at the ceremony. He said that Faiz was one of the most prolific poets of the 20th century with an optimistic approach toward life.

“His love for humanity was free of prejudice of race, colour or nationality,” Rajar said. “Apart from being an innovative poet, he was the poet of beauty and love.” PPP Hyderabad cultural wing’s general secretary, Aziz Memon, and Ghullam Hussain Khaskheli were among those who spoke at the ceremony.
