MULTAN: Members of the Shiite community protested on Tuesday against the district administration and police night for their failure to fix broken street lights along the route of the mourning procession. The protesters gathered at Shah Shams after a procession that had started from Hussainabad ended. They chanted slogans against the district administration for neglecting the route. They also chanted slogans against the Water and Power Development Authority for not supplying electricity to the remaining streetlights. They dispersed two hours later after the station house officer concerned arrived on the scene and assured them that lights would be fixed by Muharram 9.
