KHAR:

In a first, the political administration established a solar power system at the Nawagai Civil Hospital in Bajaur Agency to resolve the power crisis. The hospital will no longer depend on the Tribal Electric Supply Company (Tesco) or the national grid for power.

Medical treatment has been affected by the constant load-shedding, while several vaccinations and medicines have also expired as a result of outages in the hospital.

Authorities have installed solar panels, batteries and other solar equipment to provide uninterrupted electricity to refrigerators, labs, the emergency ward, and to run lights and fans in the building.

The administration has trained 27 staff members of the hospital on how to operate and better maintain the system in the future.
