ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) issued show-cause notices to owners of 18 CNG stations on Tuesday.

A senior Ogra official said the notices were issued to stations that were not selling CNG to public.

All Pakistan CNG Association Central Chairman Ghiyas Paracha confirmed the number of CNG stations that have received notices.

Ogra had earlier issued notices to 26 stations.

Following a Supreme Court verdict on CNG and petrol price assessment case, Ogra had slashed the CNG price by around 33%. However, CNG dealers claim that the cumulative cost of CNG for them, including the price charged by the gas company, taxes and the operating cost, was more than what is calculated by the authority.

Ogra had said that stern action would be taken against gas stations not providing gas.
