KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Monday that after the verdict in Asghar Khan case, the leader of PML, Nawaz Sharif, should either quit politics or be banned from it by the Election Commission.

He said that Nawaz Sharif committed the biggest electoral theft in the history of Pakistan during 1990 elections.

“It has been proved that Nawaz Sharif can do anything for money. He sold his faith and betrayed the people’s mandate for few rupees,” he added. He also mentioned that the only way to purge Pakistan’s politics of malpractices was to remove Nawaz Sharif from it. “Nawaz Sharif disguises himself in the garb of politics but he has betrayed the people of Pakistan. His only goal is to mint money for his family.”

He added that   Nawaz Sharif considered the people of Pakistan to be his slaves. He also mentioned that Sharif did not have any right to participate in politics because he had run away from the country and handed his party over to a dictator.

“Nawaz Sharif took money from Osama Bin Ladin to topple the democratic government of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He is mistaken if he thinks everything can be bought with money. The people of Pakistan will defeat him in next general elections,” the minister added.
