144 stress calls responded to in Eid

46 road accidents, 95 medical and other emergencies, and three clashes between different groups were reported.

A total of 144 emergencies were responded to by Rescue 1122 during Eid holidays, Malik Asif Rahim Channar, divisional emergency officer Bahawalpur division said in a briefing on Thursday.

These were 46 road accidents, 95 medical and other emergencies, and three clashes between different groups. The service transported 109 severely injured were transferred to Victoria Hospital while the remaining 38 were given first aid on the spot. Channar said Rescue 1122 had made special arrangements for the Eid holidays. These arrangements included establishment of rescue points near the prayer gathering areas, parks and other important places in the division, he said. He said the service had been on red alert throughout the Eid holidays.
