HARIPUR:

Players belonging to different Haripur-based cricket clubs have accused Haripur Cricket Association (HCA) President Ziaul Haq Sulmani of misusing authority.

Addressing a news conference on Wednesday, Players Association Haripur President Asad Khan accused the HCA president of misappropriating funds and exercising favouritism in promoting players.

Khan also accused Sulmani of misappropriating funds during the construction of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)-funded cricket stadium in Haripur and demanded a probe into the matter.

However, HCA President Sulemani has denied the allegations levelled against him. He said he was “the moving force” behind mobilising PCB’s authorities for the construction of a well-equipped cricket ground in Haripur. He maintained that he never committed any embezzlement in PCB’s funds and has always promoted local talent at the national level.
