Collecting Voters: Musharraf to contest elections from Chitral

Musharraf vowed that he will return to Pakistan and contest the next elections.

Former president Pervez Musharraf announced on Thursday that he will contest the upcoming general elections from Chitral.


Musharraf’s speech was broadcasted after the final match of Muzaffar Ali Khan Polo Tournament at polo ground, which was organised by the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). He vowed that he will return to Pakistan and contest the next elections. In his speech, he said that his love for the people of Chitral had led him to construct the Lowari tunnel.

The tunnel can provide access to the district even during harsh weather conditions when the routes are shut down. Musharraf also announced prize money for the winning team, Chitral Border Police. APML General Secretary Mohammad Ali Saif also gave a speech. MPA Ghulam Ahmed, ruler of Chitral Fatehul Mulk Ali Nasir, Shahzada Khalid Pervez and Shahzada Sirajul Mulk were also present at the tournament.
