Oh My God: Hindu group says no to Akshay Kumar inaugurating IFFI

Solanki ask for banning screening of the film in Goa because it hurt religious sentiments.

PANAJI: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar should not be invited to inaugurate the 43rd International Film festival of India (IFFI), because he has denigrated Hindu deities in his latest film Oh My God, a right-wing Hindu group said Monday.

"Akshay Kumar who is acting as an incarnation of Bhagvan Shri Krishna, is shown in Western attire. In place of Sudarshan Shakra, Bhagvan Shree Krishna is shown rotating a key chain in the finger," Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) convenor Manoj Solanki has said in his petition handed over Monday to the chief minister's office (CMO).

Solanki has also said that the screening of the film Oh My God should be banned in Goa because it hurt religious sentiments and that inaugurating IFFI at the hands of the actor would amount to "rubbing salts on the wounds of Hindus in this secular state".

@IceSoul: you are masking reality and the issue. It is apparent that the new bigots in india are not hindus and muslims but christians and missionaries pushing their chauvinistic beliefs and religion through the government and have poured billions of rupees into bollywood for anti hindu productions.. all these happening in india in the face of unsuspecting hindus and some hindus and tv stations who find the missionary money too tempting to resist..

I am a Hindu and i am totally agreeing with this movie/scenes I love my religion but i hate how other pandits or fake gods are trying to take over and think they are always right.. i dont believe in palm reading or anything like that.. all the pandits are after money.. please protect the religion by not wasting money on stupid things or fake rituals. donate that money instead to some poors in India.
