LAHORE: The Annual P@SHA ICT Awards 2012, themed “Innovation Beyond Limits”, was held at Pearl Continental hotel in Lahore on Wednesday.

The winners from the product category of the awards will be part of the P@SHA delegation which will compete at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) in Brunei against 15 IT economies, including Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. The APICTA is scheduled to be held from December 2-5 this year.

Speaking at the award ceremony, P@SHA President Jehan Ara said that the judges of the awards are becoming tougher and tougher each year and are awarding recognition to only the best in each category.

“We are delighted with some of the entries received this year and are looking forward to taking the winners to Brunei to compete regionally against the best software applications in the Asia Pacific,” she said.

P@SHA’s newly-elected chairman Naseer Akhtar said that there was a lot of potential in Pakistan’s ICT sector and they needed to be nurtured and recognised for their achievements.

    Mr. Khurram Rahat (Managing Director at Teradata Pakistan) & Mr. William Martin (United States Consul General-Karachi) handed over award to Mr. Shahid Arif in the category of “Excellence in Software Development”. The event (10th National IT Excellence Awards) was held on March 17th 2012 at Defence Country and Gold Club, Karachi.
