Bold move: Pro-LG activists storm district court

Over a hundred activists of the Pakistan Peoples Party youth wing and the Sindh Peoples Students Federation (SPSF) stormed inside the Hyderabad sessions court on Monday.


Carrying party flags as well as weapons, the activists marched in the court premises and shouted slogans in favour of the new local government ordinance while the policemen deployed outside the courts played silent spectators, according to eyewitnesses.

District and sessions judge Amjad Ali Buhio later ordered the town SP to investigate the matter. Second additional district and sessions judge Aijaz Ali Khaskheli ordered the police to register cases against the activists. Terming it an attack on the legal community, the Hyderabad District Bar Association has called for a strike today (Tuesday).
