FAISALABAD:

The Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) has decided to launch a scholarship programme for deserving and brilliant students to help them achieve higher education. Initially, it has set aside Rs1.2 million for the purpose.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the chamber’s executive committee, chaired by FCCI President Mian Zahid Aslam here on Saturday.

“A nation rises with education and we should take care of professional and educational development of our future builders,” said Aslam while speaking on the occasion.

He said the programme would be enlarged and a committee would be constituted where all modalities would be decided.

Focusing on international trade, Aslam said exports and imports of the country had dropped and production of foodstuffs had also come down. “How the government will increase its revenues at a time when businesses are taking a nosedive,” he asked.
