Religious queries: Radio Pakistan launches messaging service for Hajj pilgrims

Pilgrims can ask questions related to hajj rituals by sending a text message to 4471.

ISLAMABAD: Radio Pakistan launched on Wednesday a Short Messaging Service (SMS) to answer the queries of intending Hajj pilgrims in its special Hajj programmes that are aired thrice a week from various stations.     

According to a Ministry of Religious Affairs official, pilgrims can ask questions related to hajj rituals by sending a message to 4471.

The queries will be answered via special hajj information programmes.

The questions should be sent in a particular style with the message starting with the word “hajj” followed by a space, question, sender’s name along with city name.

Radio Pakistan airs these special hajj information programmes on shortwave/medium wave and NBS on Tuesday and Friday at 6:30 pm and on FM 101 on Monday and Thursday at 10:05 am.

FM93 also airs special hajj programmes every Wednesday and Saturday at 3:35 pm.
