Boxing: McCloskey back to winning ways

Paul McCloskey got back to a winning path with a credible triumph over American Manuel Perez in Belfast. The man from Dungiven suffered a shocking loss to DeMarcus Corley  at the beginning of the year and at 33 is in the ‘last chance saloon’. Perez turned out to be the ideal adversary for ‘Dudey’, being a durable opponent lacking and punch control, according to Sky Sports. Perez came forward with a high guard allowing McCloskey to unload at will while hesitant to counter in the earlier rounds. “I won the fight comfortably, it wasn’t my best performance but you have to be critical of yourself if you want to get somewhere,” said McCloskey.
