Pending dues: FESCO disconnects electricity supply of govt defaulters

Electricity supply to the Railway Station, the Railway Colony and the Forest Department was stopped.

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) on Wednesday disconnected electricity supply of to five public sector organisations for not clearing their dues. Electricity supply to the Railway Station, the Railway Colony and the Forest Department was stopped.

They owe Fesco Rs2 million, Rs0.153 million and Rs0.25 million, respectively. Electricity supply to Scarp Colony on Jaranwala Road was also stopped over pending dues of Rs1.4 million. Electricity supply to Abdullahpur Chowk Fall, Punjab Horticulture Authoriy, Faisalabad, and the Faisalabad Bar Council was also disconnected. Fesco Spokesman Tahir Sheikh said that the connections were cut under the on going recovery campaign against government and private defaulters.  In the first phase, he said, action was taken against major defaulters from the private sector with a liability exceeding Rs100,000. The operation against government defaulters was part of the the second phase, he said.
