400 scholarships: China sponsors Pakistani students

Students belonging to underprivileged families would be imparted training under the Waseela-e-Rozgar scheme of BISP

ISLAMABAD: China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) will sponsor 400 scholarships for Pakistani students under the Pak-China Friendship Scholarship programme. Students belonging to underprivileged families, who want to seek technical and vocational training, would be imparted training under the Waseela-e-Rozgar scheme of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). These students will be enrolled next month in different technical and vocational institutes. According to the media office of BISP, 200 such students have already completed the training. The decision to increase these scholarships from 200 to 400 students came during a meeting between visiting team of CEPD with BISP Chairperson Farzana Raja on Tuesday.
