MANSEHRA: A mentally-unstable man committed suicide in Chita Bata village on Sunday. Mehboob told the police that his son, Ghulam Muhammad, 30, locked himself in his room and shot at his temple with a 9mm handgun when most of his family members were away. Mehboob said he had taken one of his sons and his daughter to Mansehra Hospital for treatment and only his wife and son were at home. He said that when his wife heard the gunshot she tried to open the door, but it was bolted shut so she called the police. Mehboob said he reached his home before the police and broke open the door, only to find the body of his son. Family members told the police that Muhammad had been receiving psychiatric treatment and had recently lost his job.
