Girls get top positions in IUB bachelors exams

Pass percentage recorded at 43.5%.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur on Wednesday announced the results for BA/BSc and B Com examinations in a ceremony held at the university.


As many as 5,711 students of the 13,105 who sat the BA exams, passed with a passing percentage of 43.58. In BSc exams, 2,046 students out of 4,267 passed, whereas 1,525 students of 2,489 passed the B Com exam.

In humanities group, Maria Mariam of the Government College for Women, Bahawalnagar, topped the university with 686 out of 800 marks.

Amber Hussain of Government College for Women, Hasilpur came second with 670 marks and Asad Ajmal came third with 668.

In the BSc group, Anam Maqsood of Iqra Post Graduate College, Sadiqabad, came first with 715 marks, Aysha Qamar of the same college came second with 699 marks, whereas Masooma Raza Hashmi of NICAAS Post Graduate College came third with 688 marks.

In B Com examinations, Nimra Rashid of Superior College of Commerce, Rahim Yar Khan, came first with 1,217 out of 1,500 marks, Hira Ather of Unique College of Commerce came second with 1,195 marks and Zunaira Ameer of the same college came third with 1,193 marks.

Islamia University of Bahawalpur Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar congratulated the position holders and appreciated the girls over attaining top positions. He said it was a positive sign that women were proving their abilities in all fields.
