Commitment: ‘Rights of minorities to be safeguarded’

Minister Rana Sanaullah said government would accomplish development schemes of Rs260m to facilitate minorities.

LAHORE: Minister Punjab Rana Sanaullah has said the government would accomplish development schemes costing of Rs 260 million to facilitate minorities in the province.

“Minorities are playing active role in the development of Pakistan hence their struggle waged for the creation of Pakistan and its stability cannot be ruled out,” he added. Talking to a Christian delegation here on Wednesday, he said, minorities were an integral part of the society and the government was duty bound to protect their due rights and include them in mainstream of national building.

He said minority students would be awarded with scholarships and cash prizes for their excellent performance in education field. Hetold delegation that minorities’ share in government departments would be ensured at all cost.
