Boxing: ‘India cannot appeal overturned decision’
India wanted to appeal against the International Boxing Association’s (AIBA) decision to overturn a result that cost Vikas Krishan a quarter-final spot but the organisation said that the team did not have grounds to do so.
World amateur bronze medallist Krishan originally won his welterweight bout against Errol Spence 13-11 but after reviewing video footage, AIBA declared the American the winner. The governing body said its competition jury found Spence should have been awarded four additional points for fouls committed by the Indian, handing the US men a lifeline after the original result appeared to condemn them to their worst result at an Olympic Games.
“Under AIBA Technical & Competition Rules, the decision of the Competition Jury in relation to a protest is final, and cannot be appealed,” confirmed a spokesman for AIBA.

seriously, i have similar views about indian media, they do not cover positive news about Pakistan,but always focus negative aspect of Pakistan. india does same to China, instead of praising their Olympic success indian media is busy digging all negative sort of things about Chinese athletes.
@news why india always become sissy when they loses. Few days ago they did same drama when they were kicked out of badminton doubles, then,it was a foul play. if you have guts go beat them instead making lame excuses.
one more thing, its not cricket, where BCCI can influence league of 8 nations. its a world event. in Olympics, where entire world is participating, no one gives damn about a glorified labor market.
Another outrageous decision by the judges. I feel for the Indian fighter, but American and British are superior human beings(Sarcastic). They would dig a grave to look for favors for them and forget the same when it happens to us. Better luck next time Krishan. For me you are still the winner.
Good luck to India, and Pakistan in the Olympics. I think the news like this makes headlines because it has the element of controversy. Instead of bashing Pakistan, which seems to be favorite of so many bored Indians, who some how have extra time to read Pakistani newspapers also, why don't you guys look this reporting in a positive way. ET is reporting some thing, which if any thing, is sympathizing with the Indian player. At least that's the way I looked at it. I think that the decision should have be given in favor of the Indian player.

@Saad Khan: I rarely see any news about Pakistan in Indian media, except few main stream media reporting few news about Pakistan, also it's not like what you have mentioned - for example there is absolutely no news about Pakistan Olympic performance in any Indian Media (good or bad)...We have every right to question if something wrong about our mother land is projected - I am not against media for reporting truth, but that truth should cover every section of news...
Could you please give me few examples in which Indian media not showing any good things about Pakistan and projecting only the negative news...
@Tamil Arasan:ET does it every now and then to keep their head above the water,or else their quam gets demoralized,they tend to derive positive energy from these snippets which they can hold on to for a long period of time to come ,now play spoil sport over here

@ Tamil Arasan... What goes around, comes around. Indian media does exactly the same with Pakstani news. Good things about Pakistan are not shown. Its always the bad stuff that is shown to the masses. Let us be happy the way we are, and let ET publish whatever they want.
I don't understand what kind of journalism this is...two Indian boxers have won their matches same day and entered the Quarter Final and just one match away from assured medal but no news about it and hear you are very happily reporting about a sad incident for Indian boxing, also Saina have won bronze medal no news about it - but very prompt in reporting her Semi Final loss, again a Shooter from Indian Army Vijay Kumar have won silver medal and Tribune failed to report - so please give the news about India both positive and negative in equal manner not one sided...
