Repatriation: Return of Afghan refugees discussed

International community should come forward to take more steps for resolving the issue: Federal Minister

ISLAMABAD: A United States delegation headed by coordinator Afghan Refugees Richard Albright called on Minister for SAFRON Engineer Shaukatullah Khan on Monday and discussed the return of Afghan refugees to their native country. During the meeting, matters pertaining to mutual interest were discussed. Federal Minister elaborated the new strategy for the voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees. He said that repatriation process of Afghan refugees is very slow and international community should come forward to take more steps for resolving the issue.

Pakistan should give nationality to the refugees who originally came from Afghanistan. they are absolutely vital to the economy of Pakistan when one looks at the developed countries. its the immigrants and refugees who have provided the vitality which has led to growth in those countries. one additional point at moment in time this is the wrong time time to even think about asking these refugees to return to Afghanistan. especially those who were born Pakistan they are as much Pakistanis as the people who were in pakistan before the wars which have affected afghanistan. lets engender friendship rather than enmity and hardship with these people,
