Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Sunday that the people’s goodwill for the Pakistan Peoples Party could not be countered by propaganda, and added that his party came into power with a mandate.
“Come and fight us from the front, instead of using institutions,” said Memon through a press release, before claiming that some elements were hatching conspiracies against the government. He added that the electoral success of the PPP was a “slap” on the face of such elements.
“Every PPP worker knows how to defend its leadership. PPP’s leaders neither took oath under PCO judges, nor did they flee from the country after having apoligised to former president Pervez Musharraf.”
While talking about the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Memon said that, “the party will retire before the start of the match”. While referring to PTI chief Imran Khan’s promise that he would provide a political platform to youngsters, Memon said that, “his claim that his party would only issue tickets to those people who were below 37 years of age has been broken, as the PTI has people who are above 50 as well.”
