HYDERABAD: The second death anniversary of well-known Sindhi writer, noted columnist and satirist Haleem Brohi was observed on Saturday. While he studied law and worked at the University of Sindh at Jamshoro, he became famous for writing short stories. His straightforward style opened him up to bitter criticism and for his part, he thought that literary gatherings were a waste of time. Brohi wrote a short dictionary in the Roman script and was of the view that Sindhi language should be written in the Roman script – a suggestion that invoked the ire of many. Brohi was considered the second greatest satirist of Sindhi literature after Ali Mohammad Brohi.
