Polio vaccinations were being administered even in the far flung border areas of Fata.

ISLAMABAD: Local tribesmen of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) were not against the polio immunisation campaign, and no specific religious decree (fatwa) had been issued against it, said Chairman Intellectual Property Organisation Hameedullah Jan Afridi on Thursday.

He said this while speaking to World Health Organisation’s Dr Ala Alwan. He also said that Fata parliamentarians were fully engaged to make the polio campaign successful.

With the support of local residents, polio vaccinations were being administered even in the far flung border areas of Fata, he added.
