Post 2010: New study to measure food security

ISLAMABAD: A new study will measure food security across the country to help formulate better policies. The United Nations World Food Programme Deputy Country Director Mageed Yahia and Sustainable Development Policy Institute Executive Director Dr Abid Suleri signed an agreement on Friday to produce the assessment on food security and nutrition. The assessment, which will draw on data collected from districts and regions across the country, was commissioned by the Ministry of National Food Security and Research to update food security situation in the country in view of likely changes following rising food prices and 2010-11 floods.
