FAISALABAD:

Jhang Sadar police on Thursday sent the body of a man found killed in Kharora Baqir area for an autopsy.

They said an FIR would be registered in the matter after autopsy report was available from the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital.

The matter was reported to the police by one Mujahid Abbas, a resident of Kharora Baqir, who claimed that the deceased was shot accidently by another man accompanying him.

He said the two men, hidden in a sugarcane field in front of his house, had started firing at him when he warned them to come out of the field and identify themselves.

He said the firing stopped after a few minutes and when he rushed to the field he found the body of one of the men. “It appears they intended to rob my house,” he said.

He said he had been woken up by the sound of a dog barking in the street outside my house. “I saw two shadows in the field and warned the men to identify them,” he said.
