Anchor training: ‘A good anchor must first be a good journalist’

anchoring is not a separate field, but rather it is a part of journalism.

Fatima Jinnah Women University’s (FJWU) campus radio station VOW 96.6 arranged a five-day “Compere and Announcer Training Workshop” for university students, said a press release issued by the university on Tuesday.

Noted radio and television presenters delivered lectures during the workshop. The objective was to provide firsthand knowledge to participating students On the first day, TV and print journalist Fahd Hussain delivered a lecture.


He said that if someone wants to become a good anchor, they must first become a good journalist, because without knowing the rules and regulations of journalism, one cannot survive in this pool. He was of the view that anchoring is not a separate field, but rather it is a part of journalism.

The workshop was followed by an interactive question and answer session.

FJWU Senior Radio Producer Shama Khalid later presented a shield to Hussain as a token of appreciation.
